RACE VILLAGE SETUP
The Cowhouse Market with the Hazeldean Valley Trails will be the venue for this inaugural HOUR event and will supply the perfect setup and easy trails for the best overall experience.
THE STARTS/FINISH AREA
The start and finish area will be under roof in the huge shed that is part of the market area.
At the start area there will be demarcated areas where each participant (not supporters or spectators) can each have a small space for a chair and cooler box or bag. Space is limited here so no big setup is allowed in this area. If you require a bigger space, you must then make use of the dedicated camping area that is on the lawns outside (see below).
We have arranged with the venue that those who would like to pitch a tent on the Thursday already and/or sleep there on the night before the race, can do so from 2:00 pm on Thursday afternoon.
Please note that that there will be mobile showers but no electricity in the camping area. There will be a dedicated charging area for devices and lights though. Absolutely NO vehicles will be allowed in the camping area; only tents and gazebos.
Also no open fires will be allowed (due to the fire risk) but you are welcome to use a gas braai.
During the event itself, each participant will be allowed to have a chair and ONE bag or box in the designated participant area in the shed close to the start|finish chute where you can rest between laps. No mattresses, beds or tents will be allowed in this area. This specific area is only for participants and once you are out of the race, you will have to vacate this area and join the normal supporter and spectator area.
FOOD & DRINKS
The Cowhouse market will be open over the weekend as per normal trading hours but some of the food and drink vendors will also be open for the full duration of the event (including during the night). So food and drinks will always be available for purchase throughout the event.
There will be water available at the start area for participants and supporters to use. Participants are responsible for their own nutritional needs.
